The Gait Belt is a simple and economical transfer from the bed to a chair or to the toilet. Apply the belt so that it is snug around the client’s waist with the buckle facing the front, while making sure the buckle is closed correctly and the webbing is lying flat across the buckle. The caregiver can grasp the webbing at each side of the client’s waist for a secure transfer.
